As an amenities society, The Association is a non-political, non-profit and voluntary organisation recognised by a number of statutory authorities, including West Westminster City Council, the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London. The Association is regularly consulted by relevant bodies on matters related to planning, licensing, transport and the environment. The geographical coverage of the Association's activities lies between the borders of four major roads; Marylebone Road to the North, Great Portland Street to the East, Oxford Street to the South and Edgware Road to the West.
The Association lobbies various organisations including: Westminster City Council, the police and emergency services, the major landowners and other organisations responsible for the amenities in the Marylebone Area.
The Association also organises numerous social and cultural events including supporting and part funding Art in Marylebone.
The Association is run and managed by a general committee, elected on a yearly basis at the Association's annual general meeting. The general committee is responsible for developing and managing the Association's structure, finance and activities under the Association's constitution. It is responsible for appointing members to various sub-committees who undertake specific activities on the Association's behalf. It convenes on a monthly basis (normally on the first Monday of each month). Association members wishing to raise issues at the theseĀ meetings should in the first instance write to the Honorary Secretary
