PADDINGTON STREET PT/09/04901/FULLTP/21669/PP-00759039 Installation on carriageway (adjacent to Paddington Street Gardens) of cycle hire docking station, measuring 14m x 2m, containing a maximum of 16 docking points plus a payment terminalNO OBJECTION: Please make sure that the docking station does not obstruct the entry point to the adjoining building, as this is used for loading and unloading. SQ: 6 August 2009
STRATFORD PLACE PT/09/04893/FULL/TP/24614/PP-00758502 Installation on carriageway, (adjacent to 17-20 Stratford Place) of cycle hire docking station, measuring 20m x 2m, containing a maximum of 24 docking points plus a payment terminal
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
PORTLAND PLACE PT/09/04898/FULL/TP/24619/PP-00758990 Installation on carriageway (adjacent to 1a-3 Portland Place) of cycle hire docking station, measuring 16.8m x 2m, containing a maximum of 20 docking points plus a payment terminal.
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
SEYMOUR PLACE PT/09/04920/FULL/TP/24622/PP-00759366 Installation on carriageway (adjacent 124-136 Seymour Place) of cycle hire docking station, measuring 40.1m x 1.4m, containing a maximum of 35 docking points plus a payment terminal
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
CRAWFORD STREET PT/09/04895/FULL/TP/24618/PP-00758886 Installation on carriageway (adjacent 41-43 Crawford Street) of cycle hire docking station, measuring 14m x 2m, containing a maximum of 16 docking points plus a payment terminal.
OBJECTION: We feel that this docking station could be placed more appropriately west of this location on Crawford Street. At this point the pavement is relatively narrow and having a docking station on the road will increase pressure. It is also located immediately in front of a local restaurant. SQ: 6 August 2009
77-78 WIMPOLE STREET PT/09/01676/FULL/TP/15742/9846/PP-00596139 Demolition and redevelopment of No 77 to provide a five storey building over existing basement for office purposes (Class B1) and refurbishment of No 78 at basement to fourth floor levels for office purposes (Class B1). Installation of mechanical plant at roof level of No 77, new internal courtyard to the rear of No 78. Erection of a rear extension at ground and first floor level of No 78 and rear extension at basement, ground and first floor of No 77
OBJECTION: We have considered this for a very long time and have concluded that the proposal to replace this building is not sufficiently sophisticated to warrant the loss of this historic fabric. Much higher quality architecture is needed. SQ: 6 August 2009
118 SEYMOUR PLACE PT/09/01275/FULL/TP/4527 Installation of two air conditioning chiller units on the second floor rear balcony.
OBJECTION: This type of plant needs to be concealed within some sort of enclosure which is integral to the building. Simply tacking them on to the back of the building, even in this relatively unobtrusive location is lazy and messy. SQ: 6 August 2009
171 SEYMOUR PLACE PT/09/05979/FULL/TP/24312/4322 Demolition of existing buildings and erection of a part 6, part 7 storey building comprising 66 self contained residential flats with associated basement floor providing 32 parking spaces and landscaping (Classical Scheme)
OBJECTION: Dreadful, nonsensical pastiche. SQ: 6 August 2009
171 SEYMOUR PLACE PT/09/06012/FULL/TP/24312/4322 Demolition of existing buildings and erection of a part 6, part 7 storey building comprising 64 self contained residential flats with associated basement floor providing 36 parking spaces and landscaping (Contemporary Scheme).
OBJECTION: We applaud the bold treatment to the Seymour Place elevation. In itself it is an interesting treatment. Unfortunately in the precise execution it does not seem to be entirely convincing. Somehow, at least one of the two elevational elements seems to be need to relate to context in a different way. Some of the design development shows interesting ideas which could help.
The rear elevations are very poor indeed and are clearly low cost and have little to offer.
We would like to see better cycle storage facilities for occupants. An average of two per unti would not be unreasonable.
The children's play area is welcomed.
The set back roof top elements on the southern block do appear to lead to too much bulk. SQ: 6 August 2009
85 MARYLEBONE HIGH STREET PT/09/05286/FULL/TP/12673/PP-00770240 Installation of new shopfront to bring forward the entrance door to the line of the front elevation.
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
AMBIKA HOUSE 9A PORTLAND PLACE PT/09/05277/FULL/TP/1417/PP-00768318 Extension of existing external balcony at rear third floor level (to Flats 3 and 4).
OBJECTION: As far as we can work out from the very poor information provided, this scheme seems to be fundamentally flawed. SQ: 6 August 2009
195 GREAT PORTLAND STREET PT/09/05252/FULL/TP/8595 Variation of Condition 5 of planning permission dated 03 January 2008 (RN 07/06658) namely, to allow part of the ground floor for a mixed use of (Class A1) retail purposes (between 08.00 - 18.00) and/or (class A3) restaurant purposes (between 08.00 - 24.00)>
NO OBJECTION: We cannot see any potential problem with this proposal. Moreover, we do not understand the logic of imposing this condition in the first place. SQ: 6 August 2009
150 HARLEY STREET PT/09/03251/FULL/TP/9250/PP-00673365 Use of third and fourth floors as two residential flats (2 x 2 bed). Enlargement of existing dormer windows on front and rear roof slopes, insertion of rooflights into the flat section of the main roof and re-covering of roof with slates. Internal refurbishment works to existing medical use on basement to second floors, removal and replacement of existing staircase from second to fourth floors and installation of disabled lift between basement and ground floors, opening up of basement vaults and repointing of brickwork.
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
34-40 GREAT CUMBERLAND PLACE PT/09/05408/FULL/TP/7913 Replacement of existing air conditioning units at first, third and sixth floor flat roof areas with one air conditioning unit and three air handling units to the flat roof areas at rear first floor level, six air conditioning units on the flat roof area at rear roof level and 16 air conditioning condenser units to the main roof.
OBJECTION: It would appear from the drawings that it is proposed to simply sit these units onto the various flat roof areas. This will result in a visual clutter problem. A tidy solution which encloses these units in a carefully designed enclosure needs to be sought. SQ: 6 August 2009
15 SEYMOUR PLACE PT/09/05184/FULL/TP/19055/PP-00764976 Temporary use of basement and ground floor of 13-15 Seymour Place for an exhibition space for a period from the 5 September 2009 to the 3 October 2009.
NO OBJECTION SQ: 6 August 2009
72 BAKER STREET PT/09/04531/FULL/TP/1577 Use of basement and ground floor restaurant/café (Class A3). Installation of a full height extract duct in rear lightwell.
OBJECTION: Whereas we have no objection to the change of use in principle, there is a woeful lack of clarity in the information provided about the extract duct installation. We are therefore unable to comment on the physical aspects of this application. SQ: 6 August 2009
DEVELOPMENT SITE FOR HOTEL AT 17-18 MONTAGU MEWS SOUTH AND 68 CUMBERLAND PLACE AND 50-62 GREAT CUMBERLAND PLACE PT/09/04772/FULL/TP/5045/12656/23464/PP-00596294 Installation of new external lighting to the basement lightwell area, main and side entrance doors at ground floor level.
