‘Making Marylebone a better place to live and work’

Art in Marylebone logoArt in Marylebone is a joint venture between local Marylebone artists (Marylebone Arts Brigade) and The Marylebone Association with the aim of promoting local art and artists in our area. Formed in 2007, Art in Marylebone held its first major event at the old Manchester Square fire station in Chiltern Street in May that year which proved to be highly popular with the local community.

Danielle Barr - Art In Marylebone co-ordinator

Following the successful launch of Art in Marylebone last year, the AssociatioDanielle Barrn is promoting another Art in Marylebone week, set to be held during the first week in June.

The Portman Estate has kindly offered to provide some empty retail units and the Howard de Walden may agree to do the same, so as to enable local artists to exhibit their works of art. We are inviting all local artists who are interested in participating to contact me to express their interest. Please e-mail me with your details at
danielle.barr@marylebone.org .

It is anticipated that all the galleries in Marylebone will participate with exhibition openings and late evening receptions during the week, particularly on the 3rd June and we hope to have a party on that date which will be open to all Marylebone Association members.

The Marylebone Association will promote and publicise the event and will produce a Marylebone Art Trail map, showing the locations of all the participating artists and galleries.

It is not known yet how many retail units may be available, but the space will be shared amongst all the participating artists. Of course, specific availability will only be at short notice, but it would be free!

We hope local artists will welcome this opportunity and we look forward to hearing from you.
