Art & Music

The Wallace Collection is a national museum located in an historic London town house in Manchester Square housing galleries with displays of French 18th century paintings.

The Wigmore Hall aims to be the national concert hall for chamber music and song, and presents song recitals, chamber, piano, early music and jazz concerts.

The Royal Academy of Music offers training for soloists, chamber and orchestral musicians, conductors, opera singers and composers.

 

Bookshops

On Marylebone High Street is Daunts Bookshop, an original Edwardian bookshop with long oak galleries and graceful skylights. Also on the High Street, you will find The Oxfam Book Shop selling second hand books, records and CDs.

 

Leisure Activities

The Royal Parks web site gives you up to date information on what is happening in the royal parks including the parks nearest to Marylebone, Hyde Park and Regents Park

For people interested in sport, the Seymour Leisure Centre has a modern, well-equipped gym, swimming pool and variety of other facilities including Squash, Badminton, 5 a side football, Netball, Basketball and Volleyball.

The Serpentine Running Club meets regularly at the top of Hyde Park and caters for runners of all ages and abilities as well as Triathlon.

Markets

The local Farmers Market is open from 10am to 2pm on Sundays in the Cramer Street car park, behind Marylebone High Street. The Cabbage and Frocks Market is held every Saturday in St Marylebone Parish Church Grounds, Marylebone High Street (opposite the Conran shop) from 11am to 5pm

Westminster City Council provides a door to door collection service with its “Blue Bag” scheme for recycling household rubbish. WCC’s recycling facilities only cater for certain items. Residents should be aware that only those items mentioned on the Westminster web site can be recycled.
