- Marylebone will be a marginalized area within a new constituency made up of several wards with very different histories, interests and needs.
- The strong links between the constituency area and the City of Westminster will be lost and thus Marylebone will suffer from a commensurate loss of influence in our area's local government.
- The choice of name for the ward appears to lacks objectivity: undue prominence is given to the Camden name (which is also a borough) at the expense of the other localities.
- Part of Marylebone will be lost to a separate constituency - the West End Ward section of Marylebone is carved out of the area.
- Amenity societies will be split between constituencies. Currently West End Ward includes areas covered by various amenity societies, including the Marylebone Association for the part of the ward which is north of Oxford Street including Cavendish Square parts of Harley Street, and Portland Place etc.
The Boundary Commission for England's consultation process for the current proposals runs until 5 December 2011.
